On March 24th Google Fiber announced one more metro area: Salt Lake City.

Are you surprised they didn't announce all of their western cities at once like they did with the east?
I'm not terribly surprised. There are issues they are trying to work through with some of the other cities at the moment. They also have a history of announcing cities at different times that would have been better to announce together.
